Well, once a dead colleague of mine stopped my city from going to war because he could read an extinct language.

All sorts of other things too. It gives you a very lengthy perspective on things.

Oh, I do stuff. I get to experiment with magic, and I teach students. I also do important research into items we find... they might be possessed or something.

I also, if the situation arose, would be the one to keep other dark wizards in check. It doesn't much, because we try to keep them legitimately within the system.
