[Elle took three punches before he finally managed to work his arms into a position to block.]

"Maybe you should try to get him to realize it, 'cause he sure seems convinced he's in love with me."

[Beginning to feel a little dizzy from the repeated pummeling, he rolled away from Adam and did his best to stand up and get some distance. He needed a minute to make the ringing noise in his ears go away.]

[Adam stood up also, glaring at Elle. No. Peter was in love with him. That had to be it! He was in love with Peter so much...Peter had to love him back.]

"Right. Whatever. Are you out for the count already?"

[Elle braced a hand against the wall, hoping the stars in front of his vision would go away. If only he had his ability, he'd show Adam who Peter was really in love with.
