She wanted to seduce me away from the promise I'd made to my fiancee and to God.

Not entirely. It was before I was sacrificed, as a sort of cleansing ritual. Lots of religions do something similar. I understood where it was coming from, but it just made my skin crawl.

...in a way, it's hard not to, sometimes.

It was kind of weird. The whole thing was. It was 1973 and the sacrificed someone to a pagan god. Everything was bound to be a little off.
